Keeping you updated on the impact of Coronavirus on London Youth Premier League & Showcase (updated Monday 16 March 2020 at 13.15)
Over the few week we have seen an increased number of enquiries coming in to us from clubs looking to seek guidance in light of the current outbreak of Coronavirus and attempts to control its spread, specifically in relation to the continuation of the grassroots game.
We continue to monitor the situation and follow the advice provided by the Government. The government guidance currently does not indicate that smaller scale sporting events should be cancelled. Strict hygiene standards should be followed at all games, to include no hand-shakes and regular washing of hands with soap and water (or hand sanitiser gel). Boys will be allowed to attend games already changed and do not have to use changing rooms.
The FA have today released a joint statement with The Premier League, The EFL, The Women’s Super League and the The Women’s Championship. For the full statement click below.
Off the back of this statement grassroots football will continue to run as normal with the decision on any league postponements falling to the leagues. As it stands clubs will need to liaise with their leagues in the first instance before any decision is made.
